form new partnership.
Jewish History Museum in partnership with the
Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona, Holocaust Education & Commemoration Project (HE&CP) will open a
new exhibit space at the Jewish History Museum on October 20, 2013.
The newly renovated space will be located in the 1880s Arizona
Territorial house directly north of the Jewish History Museum and has
been named The Holocaust History Center at the Jewish History Museum.(HHC)
The mission of the HHC is to keep the memory of the Shoah alive by
engaging survivors of the Holocaust and their descendants residing in
Tucson to utilize family documents, photographs, their individual
memories, items from the JHM archives and other artifacts to tell
their family stories in this dedicated space. These curated family
stories will simultaneously preserve the history and provide the
community and the Southern Arizona visitor with a resource for making
local connections to the history of World War II.
The Holocaust History Center will be open to the public the same hours as the Jewish History
Museum with special arrangements for researchers, students and group tours.
